59. Jahrestagung der DGTI · Stuttgart
At DGTI 2026 we show the whole journey of a blood donation on one booth: appointment, questionnaire, check-in, donation day, laboratory and your own values in the app. Try the NEXUS donor app right on your smartphone.

Six stations, one journey
Our booth is laid out as a journey. Each station stands for one step of a blood donation. The NEXUS donor app accompanies donors from the appointment to their own values, the LIS is the backbone behind it.
Donors book in four steps: donation type, location, slot, contact details. In the app or as a guest without an account.
The digital donor questionnaire is completed at home and handed over at the desk via QR code. No network crossing, no paper.
Check-in at the terminal with donor number or scan, matched against appointment and questionnaire, then called to donate.
Beds, opening hours and donation types per site in the weekly plan, occupancy and utilisation live. The donor app's appointment module runs the day.
The LIS analyses and releases. Lab values, blood group and usage flow back into the donor's app.
Blood group, lab values, donation history and the message when a donation was used. Everything lands in the donor's app.
Demo app
Three steps, no registration. Our demo site shows you the NEXUS donor app the way your donors experience it.
Scan the QR code or search the store for “NEXUS Spende App”.
On first launch you pick your donation service. The demo site is the last entry in the list.
Sign in with the demo account or book an appointment right away via “Termin Demo-Gast” without signing in.
Credentials are available at the booth.
Donor ID and password are on our handout. All data in the demo account is synthetic.
How the data flows
The donor app backend runs per hospital as its own installation in the hospital's DMZ, maintained by NEXUS. Lab values only leave the hospital encrypted and only towards the donor.
Hospital network
Released donations, lab values and blood group leave the LIS as a file. The app never accesses the LIS.
Hospital DMZ
Import watcher, backend, database and appointment service run on a server in the hospital's DMZ. NEXUS operates and maintains.
Donor side
The app loads blood group, values and appointments fresh from the backend on every sign-in, nothing of it stays stored on the device. The push notification names the event, such as new values or donation used, and deep-links to the right place in the app.
Appointment booking in motion
Seven chapters from our live demo.
